EPA Extends Compliance Dates of Formaldehyde regulation Date: November 01, 2017

On 1 September 2017, the EPA announced that it will issue a final rule to extend the compliance dates of its formaldehyde emission regulation (40 CFR Part 770).

The final rule, which is currently available in its prepublication version, will extend the compliance dates as follows:
• 12 December 2018 for emission standards, certification requirements, recordkeeping and
labeling provisions
• 22 March 2019 for import certification provisions
• 22 March 2024 for regulation provisions regarding laminated product producers

The final rule does not change the status of the recent early labeling amendment. Certified
manufacturers can label products as TSCA Title VI compliant as soon as they receive approval from their TPC.
